WayFiS consortium covers all the areas in the chain value of the project through international collaboration between Spain, Switzerland and Hungary.

The WayFiS consortium covers all the typology or partners required with two end user organisation (CETIEX and SMIMO), Research centers (UniGe and BZF) and SMEs (HI-Iberia and arx iT). And also with well balance national consortiums that reinforces the project (Spain: End-user and SME; Switzerland: RTO and SME; Hungary: RTO and end-user).

SPAIN

HI iberia Ingeniería y Proyectos SL (Project Coordinator)

HI iberia Ingenieria y Proyectos SL is a Software Development SME founded in 1999 and integrated into HI-IBERIA engineering group (HI-Iberia Ingeniería y Proyectos SL, Seaplace SL and Howards Ingeniería SL). Nowadays the group accounts more than 200 professionals, from which 130 belong to HI-IBERIA, distributed among its two working centres in Madrid and Valladolid. HIB is compliant to ISO 9001:2008 and recently has achieved also ISO 27001:2007.

Due to its multidisciplinary approximation to ICT world, HI iberia hoards wide experience in the fields of Project Management, Software Development, Trials, Performance, Automation, Risk Management, Bid Support, Quality, Security, Cost Management, Streaming and Simulation. It has also acquired large experience in Instrumentation and Control Systems, where it has developed SeaDP for controlling and keeping the position of vessels. Other remarkable finished projects inside HI iberia are the development of the Mobile Streaming Platform for Orange in Spain.

In its SW factory, HI iberia develops applications for distributed environments (banking, mobile applications, fleet management and Control Systems for telecom operators’ activities) and embedded SW for Telecommunications systems (BS), Sensor networks SW, and Communication systems for ULS TTC Galileo. It has also a partnership with Alcatel-Lucent for the development of TV Headends, Multicast Serves, DRM. HI iberia is highly involved in the development of mobile applications like our video streaming product (LIFEonLive), HI-Iberia also develops semantic applications and Wireless Network module (development, installation and deployment of the wireless management platform).

The R&D Department, HI research, is centered in the following R&D areas:

HI iberia is the coordinator of the WayFiS project. HI-Iberia will bring to WayFiS its expertise in services development, android applications, data mining, user profiling and development of the business plan.

Centro Tecnológico Industrial de Extremadura

Non-profit Foundation created in 2007 on the impulse given by the Extremadura Engineering College, and at a later stage integrated the Metalworking Cluster of Extremadura, the Maimona Foundation, and the Foundation for the Development of the Science and the Technology in Extremadura in its Board of Trustees.

Supported in this solid pillar CETIEX develop its research activity, technician’s training based on:

  • Encouraging the development of scientific, technical, economic, social and cultural activities in the field of engineering.
  • To contribute effectively to the technological process from the perspective of technical promotion based on the development of the business sector in Extremadura.

CETIEX as Technology Center, has its headquarters, under the umbrella of the Living Lab “SeniorLab” in the Municipality of Los Santos de Maimona (Badajoz) and it is equipped with modern computer and management systems with powerful area of industrial design and assistive robotics for elderly.

“SeniorLab” Center is defined as a Living Lab, which combines an area
that several elderly interact continuously in order to carry joint projects with an area for testing innovative projects/ products and services. “SeniorLab” creates an environment where such products and services are not only validated / incorporated but developed.

The validation tests of WayFiS project will be carried out in the SeniorLab, particularly with 100 people over 55 years.

SWITZERLAND

University of Geneva, ASG Research Group

The University of Geneva participates in the project with the ASG research group, which is part of the Centre Universitaire d’Informatique (CUI), Instuitute of Services Science, and the Social and Economic Sciences Faculty. The CUI (http://cui.unige.ch) is in interdisciplinary research centre federating various research groups in the informatics. It was established in the mid 80s and has a long participation in European projects.

ASG (http://asg.unige.ch) was founded in 2002 by Prof. Dimitri Konstantas, who is actually chairing the group. The main research themes of the Advanced Systems Group are in the development of new concepts and ideas in solving problems stemming from deployment of innovative wireless and mobile services and applications. That is, the study of issues and problems in the design and realization of (multimedia) mobile services and applications based on interconnectable autonomous or semi-autonomous devices. The work covers both basic and applied research: problems coming from real world needs are analysed and research is contacted targeting in providing adequate solutions. The current main themes of the group research lies in the study of wireless network performance measurement issues, development of concepts for new Location Based Services. The final goal being the improvement of the interactive (mobile) users’ experience with the integration of context-aware mechanisms, concepts and services.

The ASG group has participated in many research projects (DVP, SECURE, EDOS, MobiHealth, Interop etc) and published results in many international conferences. The most recent research results were in Quality of Service/Quality of Experience (QoS/QoE) for mobile services, trusted spatial messaging and server-free spatial information distribution. In the area of QoS, related in the provision of high level end-to-end Quality of Service in an m-health Service Platform and the generalization of the QoS ideas towards merging context information with a QoS-aware mobile service platform were studied and applied. In the area of trust the development of a generic platform for user defined spatial messaging (location based services) based on mobile virtual tags and incorporating trust concepts is developed. An example of these ideas is the FoxyTag (available freely in the internet, www.foxytag.com) application allowing the collaborative signalization of high way events (radars, accidents etc). In the area of server free spatial information distribution a new concept for spatial information messaging, which we call “hovering information”, based on server-free mobile spatial messaging has been designed and is tested.

arx iT SA is the leading regional (Suisse Romande) company in the domain of geo-informatics, specialised in the domain of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and mobile services. Its two principal domains are GeoInformatic consulting and solutions’ integration. arx iT develops personalised mobile applications and services allowing the capture, manage, use and distribute geographical information. arx iT is ISO-9001-2000 and has been awarded the 2006 partner of the year ESRI award.

arx iT is an SME with 15 employees (engineers) and an annual turnover of 800.000 CHF. The main goal of arx iT with this project is to develop new innovative services that can commercialize in collaboration with services providers, increasing its market share in geo-informatics services and expanding its operation beyond the regional boundaries. The development and deployment of the proposed services will allow arx iT to establish itself as the incontestable leader in geo-services in the region, by opening up to a new market area of social geo-services. The proposed services will be exploited in collaboration with regional partners, like the Geneva city, with which arx iT has strong collaboration ties. New value added services will also be developed and deployed at the end of the project, targeting the needs of the user basis established by the project services.

The „Szent Miklós Idősek és Mozgáskorlátozottak Otthona” is a social care institution for elderly and disabled people. The sustainer of the institution is the Krétai Szent András Foundation. It is 20 km far from Budapest in Tököl. It was opened in 1997.

The mission of the institution is to help elderly and disabled people in solving the problems of retirement. It has a high quality of services and specially trained personnel who are taking care of the elderly and nursing the disabled. Patients with special or chronic diseases are also welcome in our institute.

The institute is easy to approach. The building is set near the river Danube in a tidy and relaxing environment that can satisfy even the highest requirements.

It is open for registration for everyone who would like to be taken care in a safe and welcoming environment.
